Matan Daniel is a doctoral candidate in the department of History of the Middle East and Africa in Tel Aviv University. His dissertation studies regional cross-border activity of Salafi-Jihadist organizations in Africa, focusing on al-Shabaab and Boko Haram. In addition, he studies the fields of security, terror, and international relations in Africa and Yemen.
